Hays Sweeps Liberal in Heartbreaker

Brock Kappelmann - May 10, 2017 7:21 am

Hays scored six in the bottom of the seventh to stop Liberal’s chances at a WAC win in Hays.  Hays won the game 12-11 after taking the first game 15-5.

Corey Mein continues to play well as she continues a 14 game hitting streak.  She is hitting .511 with 16 RBI’s and 18 runs.

Khiley Davis showed some power hitting a bases clearing triple in the second game.  She also made six inning closing catches throughout the two games.  Davis stole five bases.

Alize Tatum hit the ball well and is batting .472 with 15 RBI’s.

Kaeleah Chaloupek continued to pitch well in the circle but head coach Jason Wilson says the defense must continue to improve.  Chaloupek is also hitting .379 with 13 RBI’s.

Liberal is 6-12 and 0-6 in the WAC.  They play at Dodge City Thursday to close out the regular season.
