Guymon Man Molested, Warrant Requested

KSCB News - April 18, 2013 8:26 am

Charges have been submitted to the Texas County District Attorney’s office in reference to an alleged incident that happened in a Guymon Hotel Monday evening.
At approximately 11:46 p.m. on the night of April 15, an officer was dispatched to the Guymon Police Department in reference to a possible sexual assault.
A report obtained from the police department states the victim, a 20-year-old hotel employee, told the officer he was working at the hotel that evening when 68-year-old Steven Johnson of Oklahoma City, brought the employee some food and told him to stop by his room when his shift was over.
Johnson, who reportedly was staying in the hotel, is a regular customer, according to the report.
The report also states after the victim’s shift was over, he went to take Johnson a receipt he had left at the front desk and they met in the hallway on the way to Johnson’s room.
The victim was then asked to come into Johnson’s room where Johnson allegedly tried to get the victim to drink beer, but due to being under age, the victim did not want to drink.
The victim told the officer Johnson informed him he would tell the victim’s boss he (the victim) asked Johnson to purchase the beer for him and then the victim would get in trouble.
Johnson gave the victim more beer to take, and the victim allegedly did so without consuming them, due to “feeling pressured”, according to the report.
After a short conversation with Johnson, the report states the victim “jumped after seeing the clock” and got up to leave the room, and Johnson allegedly shook his hand and then reached into the victim’s pants and molested him.
The report says the victim told his father about the incident, and his father told him to report the incident, and he did so immediately.
The officer went to the hotel and advised Johnson he would need to go to the police department first thing the next morning to discuss the incident with a detective.
Johnson arrived at the police department the next morning and during the interview with the detective, allegedly admitted to the incident. The detective then explained the process and informed Johnson what he allegedly did to the victim was sexual battery.
A warrant for the arrest of Steven Johnson has been requested in reference to the incident for Sexual Battery.
