Funeral Plans Announced For Kaiser Carlile

Funeral plans have been announced for the bat boy who died when he was struck by a teammate’s bat during the NBC World Series.

A visitation for nine-year-old Kaiser Carlile will take place all day Monday at Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal. That’s two days after the baseball tournament in Wichita ends. A memorial service will take place Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the gymnasium of Seward County Community College.

The Liberal Bee Jays, indicated on Twitter Wednesday there were problems with a GoFundMe page for his family. The fundraising page was working normally Thursday morning, with more than $114,000 in pledges.

The Bee Jays still can win the NBC World Series title. The team plays a "Super Six" game Thursday night against El Dorado.

Kaiser A.J. Carlile, age 9, died August 2, 2015 at Via Christi -St. Francis in Wichita, KS.
He was born April 21, 2006 in Liberal, KS, the son of Chad Carlile and Gayle Glenn.
Kaiser was a 3rd grade student at McDermott Elementary School and a member of the Good News Club. He was very active in all sports with Kids, Inc. and was a member of the Liberal Wrestling Club where he had won many medals. He also loved video games, riding bike, jumping on the trampoline and playing with neighborhood kids. He was honored to be the Bat Boy of the Liberal Bee Jays baseball team for the 2015 season.
He is survived by his parents and younger sister, Keirsie Carlile;
Grandparents, Alan and Kim Carlile and Great Grandparents, Jimmy and Martha Kees all of Liberal, KS
Aunt and Uncle, Megan and Matthew Blankenship and Cousins, Dustin and Bryssa Curtis and Dustin and Austin Blankenship;
Aunt and Uncle, Jenny and Danny Olson and Cousins, Kaylee, Jeffery and Kaden Spragis and Austin Olson

He was preceded in death by Grandparents, Robert “Rags” and Terri Glenn; Great-Grandparents, George and Yvonne Carlile; Lester and Millie Glenn; Great-Grandmother, Jerry Kees; and Uncle, Dustin Glenn.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Seward County Community College in “The Greenhouse” Gymnasium located at 1801 N. Kansas Ave in Liberal, with Pastor Rex Petty and Rev. Kyle Reynolds presiding. Guests are requested to dress casual in Bee Jays attire and please enter through the West entrance of the Greenhouse. Kaiser’s funeral procession will pass by Brent Gould Field and burial will be in Liberal Cemetery.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd in Liberal.
