Fund Set up for Family Of Toddler Who Drowned On Sunday

KSCB News - July 13, 2010 12:00 am

A Guymon family needs help with funeral expenses after their two-year-old son drowned at a Liberal, Kans. water park Sunday evening.

Giovanny Ramirez, two-years-old of Guymon, is the son of Daniel and Latisha Ramirez. He passed away after being found in three feet water at Liberal’s Adventure Bay Family Water Park.

The Ramirez family had just moved to Guymon the week before the accident and are currently living with their son-in-law. They moved to town to work at a local facility but had not started working. As a result, the family has no resources to pay for even a modest funeral.

An account has been established at Guymon’s Bank of the Panhandle for anyone who wishes to help this family in their time of need. Those interested in helping can stop by the bank and make a donation to the Giovanny Ramirez Fund.

“The family is in dire need of funds to cover the funeral expense and needs the money in the next few days to have a funeral this week,” said Guymon’s Chief of Police Eddie Adamson who is coordinating efforts. “This family is doing all they can and their son-in-law is even trying to sell his car so the family is truly doing everything they can but are in need of some help.”

Adamson has also made a Paypal account where donations will be transferred to the account at the Bank of the Panhandle. Residents can donate by visiting paypal.com and entering the account e-mail address of [email protected] e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

“Please keep this family in your prayers as they are dealing with the loss of this little child,” Adamson added.
