Frank Phillips Beats Up Saints

KSCB News - April 3, 2014 6:30 am

Two weeks after an 18-17 win over Frank Phillips, Seward boarded the bus to Borger Wednesday knowing their mid week pitching would have to be a lot better to have a chance to win. It wasn’t and Seward fell victim to the Plainsmen 16-3 Wednesday afternoon in Borger.

FPC scored 10 in the first but only three runs were earned against starter Nolan McCutcheon. Brandon Urquizo and Kevin Connolly had three hits a piece. Seward used four pitchers and only Derek Valenzuela pitched a scoreless inning.

Seward is 22-17 and hosts FPC Tuesday at 3 at Brent Gould Field. They do not have a conference series this weekend.
