Fmr. Rep. Neufeld Appointed To Commission

Melvin Neufeld, a former speaker of the
Kansas House of Representatives, has been appointed to the state
Human Rights Commission.
Gov. Sam Brownback announced the Neufeld appointment Wednesday,
along with a slew of other appointments to statewide boards and
commissions. The appointments are subject to Senate confirmation.
Neufeld is a Republican from the southwest Kansas town of
Ingalls. He served in the Kansas House for more than 25 years,
including as speaker from 2007 to 2008. He has also served on
numerous state and national public policy committees and groups.
Attorney Josh Ney of Lawrence also was named to the commission.
He is assistant county attorney in Jefferson County and executive
director of KLEAR Inc., a public policy organization.
