Dragons Breathe Fire in Green House

The Saints are in a funk. Seward dropped their second straight home game and second of their last three overall as Hutch handled Seward 80-66 Wednesday night in the Green House. It was the Blue Dragon’s first win over the Saints in the Green House since 2006. The Saints are in a three way tie for first in the Jayhawk West with Colby and Barton at 6-2.

Hutch wins their third straight after a 1-4 start in conference by shooting 57 percent and holding the Saints to 37 percent shooting.

The Saints actually led 25-20 in the first half but saw the Dragons take a 32-31 lead into halftime. HCC (17-5, 4-4) led by as many as 18 in the second half.

Irvin Hollinger led the Saints with 21 points while Deverell Biggs scored 18 in the loss. Five Blue Dragons scored in double figures led by Mark Braden’s 18.

The Saints are 18-4 overall and 6-2 in the Jayhawk West. The #12 Saints host the #9 Barton County Cougars with first on the line Saturday night at 8 p.m. on B107.5 and kscbnews.net.
