Cupids Corner Winners Announced:UPDATE

The "Cupid’s Corner" prize back was delivered Valentine’s morning to Merinda Cussins of Plains Kansas by Special Delivery 4 U. A singing telegram accompanied the package which was delivered by Minnie Mouse and Elmo. While the delivery was being made a second surprise came Merinda’s way, a phone call from her husband Steve, who nominated her for the prizes. Steve is a Master Sargent with the Air National Guard, and is currently stationed in Afghanistan. Steve read about the contest at www.kscbnews.net.

Gaby Diaz also called the radio station later that afternoon, and was very excited as Special Delivery 4 U had just delivered her husband Oscar’s prize package. Once again, Minnie Mouse and Elmo assisted in the delivery, and Oscar was there to accept the prizes. A huge thank you to Special Delivery 4 U for partnering with KSCB and The Legend in this special Valentine’s Day promotion.

Over the past several weeks KSCB and the Legend listeners have been encouraged to log-in or register and log-in to www.kscbnews.net, and share a special story, poem, or a few short sentences on why that special someone in their lives should win one of the two prize packages being offered during this "Cupid’s Corner" promotion. Listener’s had a chance to win one of these packages, one for a guy and one for a girl, valued at over $750.00, with delivery being made on Monday, Valentine’s Day, by Special Delivery 4 U. Over 50 entries were received and a panel of judges independent from the radio stations, read each entry then voted on their favorite. Winning the Guys Package for her husband Oscar was Gaby Diaz. The winning Girls Package went to Merrinda Cussins based on her husband Steve’s entry. Steve is stationed in Afghanistan and read about "Cupid’s Corner" online at kscbnews.net. We are miles apart as I serve my Country in its time and need as an Airman with the Kansas Air National Guard in Afghanistan. I still remember that dance as it were yesterday and would never change a thing even today. She is my wingman at home keeping everything going while I’m so far away. We’ve been apart before but not as long as we are now. I’m just serving my country nothing special but she has served her Country on the home front and alongside of me. She deserves a special day and what a way to show her how much I love her and her sacrifices over the years. My love to you Merinda Master Sargent Steven Cussins, bgab, Afghanistan. When I got married to my husband Oscar, it changed my whole entire life. He has proven to me that I was not only a past time. He stood by my side after all the difficulties weve had to live. Even after losing the most valuable thing to us, he stepped up and proved to be a man.
