Crash Injures Two in Haskell County

A car traveling at a high rate of speed rear ended a car moving slowly Sunday just after noon. The crash injured two in Haskell County five miles northwest of Copeland. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports 50 year old Curtis Tyler of Copeland was traveling slowly in a 2007 Dodge Ram and 19 year old Carlos Fabian Loya-Maldonado of Montezuma drove a 2007 Chevy Silverado at a high rate of speed and rear ended Tyler’s car on Haskell County Road WW just south of Road 120. Loya-Maldonado was taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital in Garden City with injuries. Curtis was taken to Western Plains Medical Center in Dodge City with a possible injury. Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt.
