College Invites Businesses to Student Welcome Week fair

KSCB News - August 7, 2015 11:56 am

Seward County Community College/Area Technical School invites business owners and civic groups to join the activities fair on campus August 17.

“We kick off each year with our annual Welcome Day, and we want to give students an opportunity to visit with SCCC/ATS clubs and Liberal businesses,” said Director of Student Life Wade Lyon. In addition to events like the ice cream social, free donuts in the bookstore, and group games and ice-breakers, Welcome Week encourages students a chance to become part of the wider community.

The Welcome Day fair occurs from 5 to 6 p.m. Aug. 17 in the gymnasium, where students can meet potential employers, find out what businesses offer services and goods in the community, and network with civic and on-campus clubs. The event includes a meal.

“Businesses that would like to participate, please let me know by Friday, August 14,” Lyon said. The event is open to all businesses at no cost, but only those that RSVP will be admitted.

For more information, contact Lyon at 417-1064 or via email at [email protected].
