City Commission Meets, Annexes Pinnacle

With a relatively light agenda before them, the Liberal City Commission quickly went to work.

The Commission, after a public hearing, approved Industrial Revenue Bonds for a hotel project on East Pancake Boulevard for Liberal Hospitality LLC. This would be for a new 85 room Holiday Inn Express. Commissioners als set a date of November 8, for a Public Hearing on a CID for this development.

Commissioners approved the Housing Department to submit for a grant of $200,000.00 for Moderate Income Housing from the Kansas Housing Resources. The grant would be used for infrastructure on Jewell Street.

On the final agenda item, the Commission approved the annexation of Pinnacle into the City of Liberal,
