City Commission Approves Purchase Requests

The Liberal City Commission met Tuesday evening at 5:30 and approved additional funds for programs that the City offers to the citizens of Liberal. The first was an additional $30,000 the First Time Home Buyers Program and an additional $20,000 for the Senior Citizen Programs. This includes weatherization, exterior and emergency repairs.

The Commissioners approved purchase requests for the Building and Water Departments.
For the Building Department, Gamber-Johnson Pedestal Mounting kits were purchased at a cost of $5,956.75.

The Water Department requested to purchase a 1/2 ton Crew cab pick up from Foss Ford of Liberal in the amount of $24,650 and Skid Steer with two bids received. White Star bid came in at $38,377.01. These purchases were approved by the Liberal City Commissioners.

The Commission also approved the acceptance of a Glasair III aircraft for the Mid-America Air Museum. The aircraft is valued at $151,000.
