Child Injured In Vehicle/Pedestrian Accident

On June 2, 2010, at about 9:01 a.m., emergency responders were dispatched to the 100 block of West 2nd St. for a report of an injury accident. It was reported that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian.

Investigating officers found that a 38 year old female was driving her white, 2004 Toyota Camry east on 2nd St. A 3 year old girl crossed the street in front of the Toyota and was struck. She was not in a crosswalk at the time of the accident.

Seward County Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. The girl was transported to the Southwest Medical Center for treatment of possible injuries and is being transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita Kansas for follow-up care.
