Busy Day for Seward Sports

KSCB News - April 10, 2011 6:23 pm

All four Seward County spring sports team were in action
on the road today as the Saints and Lady Saints tennis teams were in
Arkansas City, the Lady Saints softball team was in El Dorado, and the
Saints baseball team was in Garden City. Seward tennis started off the
day with a pair of losses to host Cowley. The Saints would drop their
match 5-4 to the 8th ranked Tigers while the Lady Saints would fall 7-2
to the #6 Lady Tigers. The Seward softball team won both of their
contests of the BuCo Bash handily, taking care of Maple Woods 8-1 before
thrashing Eastern Oklahoma 12-1 to finish a 2-0 day. The Saints
baseball team would secure a series win over Garden City with a 19-4
victory in game three of their four game set but would let an
opportunity for a rare road sweep slip by as they fell late 13-10 in the
series finale. (Roy Allen)
