Liberal had opportunities to score. But when all was said and done Friday night at McDonald Stadium, the BJ’s suffered their first shutout loss of the season 6-0. They had two on and one out in the third and two on and no outs in the fourth. They had two on and one out in the seventh. They also placed their lead off man on in the fifth and sixth. Liberal loses their third straight.

El Dorado hit three homers as they scored one in the fifth, three in the sixth, one in the seventh, and one in the eighth. Zack Fields blasted two homers to give him eight for the season. Morgan Oliver added his third of the summer.

Justin Schnedler went 5.2 innings and allowed four runs. Zach Thompson went two-thirds with a run and Derek Luna went 1.2 innings allowing one run. Robert Dugger was 2-4 with two doubles. Zach Hoffman had two hits.

Liberal is 16-16 and 10-16 in the Jayhawk. El Dorado 12-18 and 9-17 in the Jayhawk. The same two teams meet tonight at 7 in El Dorado.

Dodge City beat Derby in Derby 5-4.
