A bridge replacement project over Gyp Creek in Meade County will close U.S. 160 between the U.S. 54 junction in Meade County and the U.S. 283 junction in Clark County. The Kansas Department of Transportation expects work to begin by Monday, October 10, weather permitting, and the road will remain closed to through traffic for the duration of the project. Local traffic will be able to use the highway on either side of the bridge.

L & M Contractors, Inc., of Great Bend is the primary contractor on the project at a cost of $1.9 million. KDOT expects work on this project to be completed in April, depending on weather.

If you have questions on this project, you can call Greg Adams, Construction Engineer, at 620-624-4451 or Kirk Hutchinson, KDOT Southwest Public Affairs Manager, at 1-877-550-5368 (toll free).
