Board To Pick Casino Developer December 15th

KSCB News - October 20, 2010 12:00 am

A Kansas board meets Dec. 15 to pick the developer for a state-owned casino south of Wichita.

The Lottery Gaming Facility Review Board also has scheduled three other meetings to review the two pending proposals for the Sumner County casino.

The chosen developer will build and operate the casino for the Kansas Lottery.

One plan is from a subsidiary of Dubuque, Iowa-based Peninsula Gaming. The other is from a subsidiary of Ada, Okla.-based Global Gaming Solutions, which is owned by the Chickasaw Nation.

The Dec. 15 meeting is in Topeka.

The review board plans an Oct. 28 hearing in Wellington and a Dec. 1 meeting in Topeka to discuss the proposals with consultants.
