Bee Jays Blow Out Broncos

The Liberal Bee Jays still have not lost two games in a row.  Sunday night at Brent Gould Field, the Bee Jays defeated the El Dorado Broncos 11-1.  Liberal has a two game lead over Dodge City and Hays who are 17-7.  Liberal finishes 4-2 against the Broncos this season.

Jake Harrison is 4-0 after pitching seven strong innings allowing one run.  Derek Craft went two scoreless innings. The Broncos had just five hits against the BJ’s.

Liberal scored two in the first.  Marcus Shoemaker singled and stole a base and Zac Cook singled home Shoemaker and scored two bases.  Trent Maloney lined a sacrifice fly to right.  With one out in the fifth, Shoemaker reached on an error.  Zac Cook then singled.  Jaron Robinson singled home a run and Maloney grounded out to score a run.  Liberal is 4-0.  Colton On stott led off the sixth with a single and Robbie Young ripped a double to left center.  Shoemaker singled home two.  Liberal had five runs on just two hits and three Bronco errors in the seventh.  Young walked with the bases loaded and Nate Crossman hit a sac fly.

Liberal is 20-6 and El Dorado is 10-17.  Liberal hosts one of the teams tied for second Dodge City for the 4th of July Game Tuesday night at 7 at Brent Gould Field.  The Community Bank and Pizza Hut are the buyout sponsors.  A fireworks show will follow the game.  Community Bank will throw out beach balls and Pizza Hut will give a coupon away to everyone who walks in the ballpark and Pizza Hut will have hundreds of prizes.  First Southern Baptist Church will provide a free picnic from 2-6 Tuesday.
