Bee Jays Blast Renegades

KSCB News - June 7, 2010 12:00 am

The Liberal Bee Jays are 3-0 after a 17-6 run rule win over the 1-2 Denver Renegades Sunday night at Brent Gould Field. The game was shortened to seven innings due to a run rule. The Bee Jays hammered out 19 hits and were aided by three Renegade errors. The Bee Jays weren’t perfect committing two errors and allowing five first inning runs and making a first inning pitching change. But Angelina College’s Austin Robson pitched the rest of the way for the win. The Jays scored four in the first, two in the second, three in the third, seven in the fourth, and one in the sixth. Nicholls State first baseman Blake Bergeron and Concordia College’s Joe Vaskas both homered. The Bee Jays host the Renegades Monday night at 7 p.m. First National Bank is the buyout sponsor.
