AREA ARTS COUNCIL CALLS FOR ARTS ENTRIES

Area artists are invited to enter to win cash prizes in the Haskell County Community Art Exhibition hosted by the Satanta Arts Council at the Satanta and Sublette public libraries by October 4, 2013. The exhibit will be open to the public during the libraries’ business hours from October 7, 2013, through November 1, 2013. A public closing reception will be held at the Haskell Township Library in Sublette from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2013, with prizes awarded.

Any person 18 years of age or older who resides in, or does business in, Haskell County, KS is eligible to enter up to four total pieces of art in the Photography, Two-Dimensional, and Three-Dimensional categories. Entries are $5.00 each. Winners in each category will be selected by public vote of attendees to the exhibit. Younger artists may enter at no cost for exhibit only in the Junior Artist class.

Photography shall be delivered to and will be displayed and judged at the Dudley Township Public Library located at 105 Sequoyah Street in Satanta. Two- and three-dimensional work shall be delivered and will be displayed and judged at the Haskell Township Library located at 700 West Chouteau Avenue in Sublette.

Haskell County Community Art Exhibition guidelines and entry forms are available for pick up at area businesses. Digital copies are available on the Satanta Arts Council Facebook page and on their website at www.satantaartscouncil.com.

The Satanta Arts Council was founded in 1975 to act as a coordinating, educational, and service organization to foster, promote, encourage, and increase the knowledge, appreciation, and practice of the arts in Satanta, Haskell County, and the surrounding area.
