Another Former Bee Jay Makes History

KSCB News - April 16, 2009 12:00 am

A day after former Liberal Bee Jay Ian Kinsler made history joining just two other players in history for having a six hit cycle, another former Bee Jay made his mark in the ‘Big Apple.’ Kelly Shoppach gave the Cleveland Indians a 1-0 lead over the New York Yankees on a hit in the fourth inning. It was the first RBI in the new Yankee Stadium. The Indians went on to win the game 10-2. The projected total cost of the new stadium is $1.5 billion, making it the second most expensive stadium in the world. The Bee Jays will begin play in June. Former Major League manager Mike Hargrove will manage the team for the second summer in a row.
