Alma Pearl Franks, 87, of Liberal, Kansas passed away October 21, 2013 at her home.
Alma was born March 30, 1926 in McCrory, Arkansas, the daughter of Charles and Pearl Lucretia Johnson Franks.
Alma was a Junior High music, English and writing teacher. She had received her Masters in Education. She taught ten years in Venezuela from 1958 to 1968 and thirty years in Ventura, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Charles and Pearl Franks, four brothers, Dr. Raymond Lee Franks, Charles Lee Franks, Luther Eugene Franks and Thomas Asbury Franks, a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Compton.
Survivors include her nephews Raymond Dobbs Franks of Australia, Don Franks of Knoxville, Tennessee and her niece, Ann Franks of Springdale, Arkansas.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Tyrone Cemetery near Tyrone, Oklahoma with Pastor David Randall of the Liberal United Methodist Church. Arrangements directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. in Hooker, Oklahoma.
