Jessie Dale Horton

Liberal, KS

Jessie Dale Horton 83 died May 26, 2011 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS.

He was born April 27, 1928 in Hugoton, KS the son of John Alanson and Roxie Viola Burrows.

He has been a long time Liberal Resident. He graduated from Hugoton High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University.

He was a mud engineer and owned Horton Mud Service retiring in 2002. He also was a farmer.

On Sept 13, 1955 he married Nella Mae Busby in Clayton New Mexico. She died Nov. 14, 1990.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from Dec. 1950 to June 1960,

Preceded in death by Daughter Donna Jean Horton, 5 brothers Lant, Ray, Leroy, Joe and Donald Horton, 3 sisters Dorothy Reynolds, Louise Clark and Betty Gaye Horton.


Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday at Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jack Jacob presiding. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery.


Visitation time will be 3-6 pm Monday and 9 am to 8 pm Tuesday with the family present to greet friends from 6:30 – 8 pm Tuesday at Brenneman Funeral Home.
