Vera Lowry

Vera Lowry passed from this life Sunday, December 2, 2012 at the age of 90. She was born October 11, 1922 to Mack Greenwood and the former Georgia Davis. Vera married Eldon Lowry on May 17, 1946 and was blessed with four daughters, Janice, Brenda, Eljean, Juleine; and three sons, Jimmie, Russell, and Sam. Vera graduated from high school in Canon City, Colorado. She lived in Canon City and Hugoton, Kansas. She is survived by her children, Brenda Lowry of Garden City, Kansas, Eljean Miller and husband Henry of Scott City, Kansas, Juleine Lowry, Jimmie Lowry, Russell Lowry, Sam Lowry and wife Susan all of Hugoton, Kansas; one grandson, Shane Lowry of Hugoton, Kansas; a brother, Milton Greenwood and wife Kathy of Nampa, Idaho; two sisters, Cleora Nordyke of Hugoton, Kansas, and Loretta Cacciatore of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Vera is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Eldon in 1990; a daughter; two sisters, Maxine Lautaret, Lorine Lautaret; three brothers, Elden, Myron and Kenneth Greenwood. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton with Pastor Pam Peachy officiating. Friends may call Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Hugoton. Memorial contributions may be given to the donor’s choice in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 423 S Main, Hugoton, KS 67951.
