Bonnie R. Smith

  Bonnie R. Smith, 89, Turpin, OK, died Saturday, March 26, 2011
at Share Medical Center, Alva, OK.

  she was born November 17, 1921 in Beaver County, OK. the daughter
of Omer A. & Jennie M Stripe Minton.

  She attended Harmony School and graduated Greenough High School            in 1939 and attended Panhandle State University, Goodwell, OK for three years,
she taught school in Beaver county at the Union & Greenough schools.

  Bonnie worked as a cook for the Turpin High School for nine years.
She farmed with her husband for many years,  in the Turpin community.
Her hobbies included quilting, making quilts for all of her grandchildren,
gardening and square dancing.

   She was a member of the Bethel church of God, Forgan, OK.

   On  January 18, 1942, she married Lawrence R. Smith at Turpin, Ok,
he died April 24, 1992.

  She is survived by two sons, Larry Smith and wife Glenda, Richmond, TX;
Dr. Troy Smith and wife Elizabeth, Alva, OK; one daughter, Bonita Cox and husband Rev. Glendon, Anderson, IN;  seven grandchildren,Treva Madore,
Tamra Wright, Deanna Certurion, Major Christopher Cox USAF, Pastor Lt 2nd Class CCPO Tiffany Smith USN, Tray Smith, Tenille Smith;  nine great-grandchildren,  Garrett & Hunter Madore, Jenna Wright,                      Lillian,  Julia & Charleston Cox, Diego & Alexis Centurion, Ty Smith.               She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

  Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at
the Bethel Church of God, with Rev. Stan Lehnert officiating.

   Interment will be the Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

   Friends may call at the Miller Mortuary 9 A..-8 P.M. Tuesday.

  The family suggests memorials be sent to the Bethel Church of God,
in care of the mortuary.
