Charles J, Swank, 82, Liberal, KS, died Monday, March 14, 2011,
at Satanta District Hospital, Satanta, KS.
He was born June 1, 1928 at Fall River, KS, the son of
Ezekal & Irene Leonard Swank.
He graduated high school and attended college for two years.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U S Army.
Charlie moved to Liberal in 1951 and started the Swank Painting,
which he and his wife operated over fifty years. He loved working
on cars and drag racing.
He waw a member of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma.
On February 10, 1952, he married Anna M. Hart at Clayton, NM,
she died January 7, 2011.
He is survived by one son Jimmie Swank and wife Karen, Liberal, KS;
one daughter, Charlotte Ward and husband Gabe, Liberal, KS;
one sister, Mary Underwood, Liberal, KS; four grandchildren and
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00pm at Lutheran Church of the Good
Shepherd, with Rev. Dr. Stephen Saville, presiding.
Interment will be in the Liberal Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Miller Mortuary 1-8 P.M. Saturday and
Sunday, 9-11 A.M. Monday.
