A Teary Eyed Purtue Signs at Kentucky School

KSCB News - April 16, 2014 6:34 am

Seward’s 28 year old forward was reduced to tears. Quentin Purtue signed Tuesday in the All American Room at SCCC/ATS to play basketball at NAIA Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky. Purtue, who didn’t play high school basketball, came from Wichita Southeast. Seward head coach Bryan Zollinger called him the heart and soul of Seward’s Jayhawk West championship team this season. He averaged eight points and four rebounds per game. Zollinger began recruiting Purtue when he first took the job and Seward and kept tabs on him throughout the years.
