Pancake Day Parade Offers Cash Prizes; Out-Of-Town Entries Welcome

LIBERAL, KANS.‹ It¹s time to start thinking ³Pancakes on Parade.² The

annual International Pancake Day parade serves as the culmination of the

four-day celebration of Pancake Day events, and everyone can participate.

This year¹s theme is ³Pancakes on Parade.²

There is no entry fee, and any group or individual is invited to enter a

float in one of the following divisions: commercial, non-profit, schools,

antique automobiles, and antique equipment. Cash prizes of $150 for first

place, $100 for second place and $50 for third place will be awarded in each

division.

The parade, sponsored each year by the Liberal Rotary Club, is set to begin

at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16. The parade is open to organizations and groups

outside of Liberal, as well as local ones.
