7 Liberal Men Arrested In Haskell County

KSCB News - July 11, 2014 8:24 am

Seven Liberal men were arrested Tuesday in Haskell County following a hit-and-run accident that occurred two miles south of Sublette on U.S. Highway 83.

According to a press release issued by the Haskell County Sheriff’s Office, sheriff’s deputies responded to multiple 911 calls regarding a two-vehicle accident that occurred at about 4:43 p.m. Tuesday two miles south of Sublette on U.S. Highway 83.

Prior to the arrival of sheriff’s deputies, Haskell County Communications received calls that a third vehicle, described as a gold minivan, was leaving the scene of the accident.

Upon arrival at the scene, sheriff’s office personnel discovered Aja Ardery, Sublette, was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 83 in a 2013 Chevy passenger car and was turning into a private drive when a 2003 Pontiac van rear-ended Ardery’s vehicle.

Ardery and only one occupant of the 2003 Pontiac remained on the scene, according to police, and the occupant of the 2003 Pontiac told sheriff’s deputies he was not driving the vehicle.

A Haskell County deputy was able to locate the third vehicle, a gold 2001 Ford Windstar, in which there were seven occupants, including the driver of the 2003 Pontiac that was involved in the accident, who police later identified as 31-year-old Luciano Pablo of Liberal. Pablo was arrested on allegations of no driver’s license, interference with law enforcement, and failure to report an accident.

Police identified 35-year-old Jose Pablo Perez as the driver of the 2001 Ford and arrested him on allegations of no driver’s license and interference with law enforcement. The other five occupants of the 2001 Ford were identified as Transito Juarez, 29, Santo Juarez-Gomez, 31, Sebastian Larios Ambrocio, 20, Manual Ambrocio, 25, and Manual Ambrocio, 22, all of Liberal, and were arrested on allegations of interference with law enforcement.

All parties involved with the accident denied medical treatment at the scene.
