7 Arrested In Syracuse Drug Bust

.A two-month investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and Kansas Bureau of Investigation’s Southwest Kansas Drug Task Force led to seven drug arrests in Syracuse on Wednesday.

According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation resulted in five arrest warrants and seven search warrants being issued, in addition to arresting two more individuals on allegations involving narcotics.

The arrests include David Ramirez, 35, Syracuse, on allegations of distribution of cocaine, two counts of misdemeanor paraphernalia, felony possession of paraphernalia, no drug-tax stamp and possession of marijuana.

Alberto Leyva, 32, Syracuse, was arrested on allegations of no drug-tax stamp, two counts of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, three counts of sale of cocaine, liability for crimes of another and two counts of conspiracy.

Juan Aguilar, 32, Syracuse, was arrested on allegations of two counts of misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, two counts of sale of cocaine, sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school and a no drug-tax stamp.

Alejandro Solano, 23, Syracuse, was arrested on allegations of two counts of no drug-tax stamp, two counts of misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, felony possession of paraphernalia, sale of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute and one count of conspiracy.

Juan Solano, 35, Syracuse, was arrested on allegations of two counts no drug-tax stamp, three counts of misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, felony possession of paraphernalia, three counts of sale of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute, conspiracy to distribute cocaine and liability for crimes of another.

Arrests also included Jose Luis Ruiz, 39, Syracuse, on allegations of two counts of sale of cocaine, three counts of misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, two counts of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and two counts of no drug-tax stamp; and Rosa Maria Solano, 22, Syracuse, on an allegation of possession of cocaine.

Agencies including the Finney, Wichita, Scott, Greeley, Kearny, Stanton and Grant counties’ sheriff’s offices and Garden City and Scott City police departments were involved in serving the warrants. State agencies involved also included the Kansas Highway Patrol, Kansas Department of Revenue and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration.
